Throats of a thousand demons

(A nightmare of the real kind)

Tyr the nightmare demon

I heard the screams and howls of a thousand demons, sounds of destruction and immediate death, all coming from the helm of a distant old wooden ship, but a demon pierced the entire atmosphere around me and above me, never in all my days . left on earth I will forget the mounting agony within the valves of my heart, and its compressed chambers, and the intense terror that permeates it, to the point that the walls of those chambers were about to burst; therefore I felt my blood being squeezed out through frozen and hardened veins: my skin was cold and goosebumps covered me from head to foot, standing hard and upright, and the voice of the Demon of the Nightmares stammered as his hand grabbed my shadow and held it up. around his neck, around his throat, the heavy body beneath him, pulling downward as if to decapitate, his neck thinning, as his neck stretched, my heart went into alarm.

“You gotta see This!” the demon repeated twice, and I looked and felt that he was falling, falling headfirst, numb-numb, if he did not escape quickly.

“Nope!” I said extremely opposing the voice. I didn’t want to look and that’s when I yelled at my wife Rosa: “Wake me up!” whereupon I found myself reviving and bound once more to the waking world, paler than death.

He had nearly been run over by a wild demon on the loose, cheered on by his demonic onlookers. Feeling my eyes widen, my explanation to my wife was a few words: she had a rough look from the night’s experience. Somehow she had slipped into my dreams and it was impossible to avoid coming into contact with him.

My wife asked, “Did you forget your prayers last night?” And I had.

“Then it was obvious,” he told me, “the demon immediately rode upon you, as if he had not the slightest perceptible impediment to his progress.”

Throats of a Thousand Demons

(A real nightmare)

I heard the screams and roars of a thousand demons, sounds of destruction and immediate death-that came from the wheel of an old wooden ship-but a demon passed through the atmosphere around and above me-never, every day that I have left on earth I will forget the growing agony within the valves of my heart, and its compressed cavities, and the intense terror pervading it, to the point that the walls of those cavities were about to burst-; thus, I felt my blood being squeezed through my veins hardened and clotted blood-my skin was cold and covered from head to toe with goosebumps; the Demon of Nightmares, staggering but upright, stammered as his hands seized my shadow and held it high at his neck, around his throat, under his heavy body, pulling him down as if to decapitate him, the neck thinning-as my neck was being stretched, my heart was thrown into full alarm.

“You have to see this,” the demon repeated twice, and I looked and felt it imperceptibly fall headlong into a numbness, if not quickly escaped.

“No” I said extremely with difficulty. I didn’t want to see, and that’s when I called my wife Rosa, “Wake me up!” At this point I found myself reanimating and once again in the living world – paler than death.

Nearly run over by a wild demon on the loose, summoned by his demon onlookers. Sensing my eyes open, my explanation to my wife was only a few words-he was there by all means, moved by the nocturnal experience. Somehow he got into my dreams and it was impossible to avoid him coming into contact with me.

My wife asked, “Did you forget your prayers last night?” And yes, she had forgotten me.

“Then it is obvious,” she told me, “that the demon immediately passed over you—as if without the slightest perceptible impediment in its avant.”
