Looking for hotels in Cape Coral?

The most important thing to know about Cape Coral is that there are definitely nicer areas that you want to stay in if you’re looking for a great experience. With the real estate crisis, you can probably rent a place pretty cheap if you plan to stay 3-4 weeks. However, if you want to stick with a hotel, here are a few suggestions you may want to consider.

First of all, keep in mind that you can get a very decent hotel in Cape Coral for less than $120 a night. My favorite place in Cape Coral is Cape Harbour, which is home to Rumrunners and a little restaurant called “The Joint”. Their food and atmosphere don’t match the name, so don’t worry! The joint and Rumrunners are right on the water and have great food. Staying in this area is further from the Ft Myers airport than some would like, but it is the prettiest part of Cape Coral.

If you can afford it, I would recommend you skip the hotel and rent a 2 or 3 bedroom Cape Harbor vacation rental as they are very nice and the location is the best in Cape Coral. However, if you need a hotel in Cape Coral, I can recommend the Dockside Inn at Del Prado or the Hampton Inn and Suites, both of which are decent and affordable. Personally, I wouldn’t stay in Northeast or Northwest Cape Coral if on vacation, as South Cape Coral is much nicer and more welcoming to tourists.

One hotel I would definitely stay away from is Hotel Casa Loma in Del Prado. This used to be run by different owners who cared about the level of satisfaction of their guests. It is now run by people more hungry for money than hungry for satisfaction. I know of two friends who have stayed there over the last year who were completely disappointed with the customer service and rudeness of the managers and employees there. But, this is unlike most hotels in Cape Coral that I have personally stayed in or know someone who has, so don’t let one bad apple ruin the barrel!

I hope this helps give you some options in your Cape Coral hotel search!
