Be willing and obedient to eat the good of the land

Is the land where you are satiating you with the good it has? Every land has been endowed by God with some good things that its inhabitants can benefit from. However, many people are not enjoying the benefits that their land has to offer them; rather they wallow in poverty. This article reveals the secret to eating the good of the land.

If you want and obey, you will eat of the good of the land; but if you refuse and rebel, you shall be devoured by the sword”; for the mouth of the LORD has spoken – Isaiah 1:19-20 (NKJV).

In a land where some people gossip and complain that they are suffering and in poverty, others are doing it genuinely and not because of bad practices. They are eating the good of the land.

God wants you to enjoy the blessings He has bestowed on the land where you are, and He has given the key to their realization. The operation of this key will open you to great blessings. The key is to be willing and obedient to the Lord’s instructions at all times.

be willing and obedient

This is a wisdom that God has established so that we can live successfully on earth. You must be willing and obedient to the Lord in order to eat the good of the land. Being obedient and not being willing will not give you good fruits, just as being willing and not being obedient will not give you anything. Two of them must be in place for you to enjoy the good of the earth.

God has a plan and purpose for each individual. Discovering it and pursuing it will give you great results. Many Christians, although they know God’s plan for them, are not willing to follow it. Some disobey because they think that the Lord’s plan is not ideal for them, while others resent the contrary opinion of society, family and friends. Some Christians may be willing to follow plan and purpose but want to do it his way, while others will obey his instructions but not willingly. All these attitudes will affect the good that corresponds to them. You must be willing and obedient to eat of the good of the land.

God said that if you refuse and rebel, you will be devoured by the sword. This sword can be in the form of poverty, illness and disease, failure, depression, and frustration. Some Christians are suffering from one or more of these things, but don’t realize that they are the result of disobedience to the Lord or an unwillingness to work. These opened the door for the enemy to afflict them.

full obedience

God requires total obedience and not partial obedience. Partial obedience is not obedience. It still amounts to disobedience. Until you do as the Lord said, you have not obeyed him. There is no prize for incomplete work; until you finish you are not rewarded. You work on God’s terms and not on your terms.

Abraham was a willing man who walked in total obedience to God’s words. God told him to leave his father’s land and go to a place He would show him and he got up and left not knowing what to expect or where he would go (Genesis 12:1-4). He never returned to that land again. He even ordered his servant never to take his child to that place. Abraham obeyed God in everything and was grievously wounded in everything (Genesis 24:1, 4-6).

Isaac was also willing and obedient and the land of famine gave him so much that the Philistines envied him. The Lord asked him not to go down to Egypt but to stay in the land of famine and he obeyed. He planted in that land and gave him a hundredfold that same year (Genesis 26:1-6, 12-14. It is worth obeying God, He knows and has the best things for us, and therefore it is wisdom simply obey him.

In conclusion, what has God put in your heart to do? Be willing and obedient to do it. It may not seem ideal, do it anyway, because in your will and obedience lies your joy and peace and your ability to eat the good of the land.
