Apply Mime makeup correctly

Mime makeup is extremely important to the overall look of a mime. In case you have never seen a street performance, a mime is a person who dresses in black and white. They wear a lot of white makeup on their faces. Mimes use their faces and bodies to represent actions or emotions. They don’t talk when they’re in disguise.

The makeup

Mime makeup is extremely important to a mime’s costume. A person would not dress as a vampire without putting on false vampire teeth, any more than a mime would dress as a mime without the proper makeup. If you want to dress like a mime, the first thing you have to do is get yourself a water white pastel face makeup or clown makeup. Cake makeup can stain more easily than grease-based makeup. Some mimes wear oil-based makeup because it’s thick. One downside to using oil-based makeup is that it’s hard to make other marks on top of oil-based paint. You should experiment with both types before making a decision.

Before putting on this makeup, you need to moisturize your face. A damp face will help you spread your cream more easily. After moisturizing, outline your face with makeup. Then, place white dots in various places within the perimeter and decorate your face by moving them from one dot to another. Be sure to cover your face with the paint. If you’re using a fat-based paint, you should dust your face with white powder when you’re done filling in the outline. You don’t need to do this for a pastel based painting.

Next you will need to make your markings black and red. For the black marks that go over your eyes and lips, use an eye pencil or liquid eyeliner. You will need to make new eyebrows that sit well above your eyes. This will help give you exaggerated expressions. When you’re done with the eyes, you’ll need to move on to the mouth. Use a red lipstick for your lips.

When the colored makeup has dried, powder your face. It is best to use translucent powder. This type of powder will seal your mime makeup without changing your look.
