A quick primer on cancer and essential oils

Since biblical times, essential oils have been used for everything from purification to healing infections to mood modification. This short manual will discuss how the wonderful qualities and abilities of these oils can be of great help in combating the side effects of cancer treatment.

…but first, a little information about essential oils is needed.

What is an essential oil? It is “the essence” of a plant, extracted by compression, vaporization, dissolution or distillation. These oils produce the strongest odours, flavors or medicinal properties due to their origin. However, all essential oils are not created equal. Therapeutic-grade essential oils are compressed, vaporized, dissolved, or distilled from plants that have been organically grown or grown wild in a clean environment. Furthermore, these plants have not had any chemical fertilizers added to the soil in which they were grown and no herbicides or pesticides have been used in the cultivation. Not only do therapeutic-grade essential oils possess stronger healing qualities than non-therapeutic-grade essential oils, but you also run the risk of harm from using a non-therapeutic-grade essential oil. So, be sure to check the bottle for therapeutic grade verbiage before purchasing.

Here is a list of several essential oils that may be of benefit to you during your cancer treatment. Each of these essential oils has therapeutic properties other than what I have listed, however, I will only address cancer-specific properties and their effects in this article.

fennel oil it is good for constipation, nausea and vomiting.
