“Change yourself if you want to change your result.” Chances are, you’ve heard this in many different ways throughout your life, and it’s completely accurate. You cannot hope to accomplish the most important tasks in your life if you are not willing to change your perspective and your habits. If you are trying to get a different result from your exercise program, shouldn’t you be ready to choose different exercises to achieve it?

Yes.

This leads to another phrase that everyone has heard from our lovely folk genre Einstein: “Insanity – Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” Now, these are not words to take in and bond nicely and say “yes” and then get on with your day. Think about it and see how it applies.

Exercise program to lose Sallys

I will give you a typical example. Sally Sucker has been exercising most of her life and has never reached her goals. So keep up with your routine of gym classes, yoga, hiking, and biking every now and then. She will “get serious” twice a year and exercise a little more, but the result is the same and she is getting frustrated.

She is frustrated that she is not getting any closer, and in hindsight it is getting worse. She doesn’t move as well, she’s in more pain, and worse still, she thinks it’s because she’s not working hard enough and she’s losing confidence and motivation. This little story got a bit depressing because the health and fitness industry misled Sally.

They misled her because they told her that if she moved out and did these activities that were meant to work, she was looking for success. Sorry, Sally, it doesn’t work that way. You get results when you tell your body EXACTLY what you want it to do with an ACCURATE health and fitness exercise program. Sally needs to take a hard look at how she has tried to reach her goals and make changes that will really help her reach her goals.

Use an exercise program as a science experiment.

A health and fitness program is like a scientific formula: a little too much or too little here and there, and it explodes in your face, but without all the burning skin and fire. Each exercise is an ingredient that is included because it was designed to produce an exact result. And, to get back to thinking about exercises as well, the exercises that you find that will give you these results will be a bit strange and will definitely be a challenge. And not only is sweaty breathing a challenge, but also a mental, emotional and physical challenge.

Let’s give Sally a good ending because she’s been through a lot. So Sally saw the light and was brave and took the road less traveled (too many analogies), and now Sally is seeing and embodying her accomplishments, and she is no longer a fool but a superstar. Oooh.
