Study in the UK|How do I get to the University of Leeds from the airport?

“We first need to know that London and Leeds are over 300km apart and London Heathrow International Airport is located 22km west of central London, at the southern end of the Hillingdon district. Heathrow is London’s main airport, the world’s leading aviation hub and the busiest airport in all of Europe.

Mode 1: Airline transfer

Once you have arrived in London, it is very easy to transfer from London’s Heathrow Airport to fly to Leeds Bradford International Airport and then on to the school.

Train

As there are no direct trains from London Heathrow Airport, you will need to take the tube, bus or airport express to central London and then take the train to Leeds, which takes around 2 hours.

Alternatively, Leeds student accommodation can take a coach to Leeds. Coach tickets can be purchased at the terminal or booked online, but I don’t recommend taking a bus here as it takes about 6-7 hours to get there, which can be a real challenge for students who have travelled a long way by plane to the UK.

2. Manchester Airport

Manchester Airport is the closest airport to the University of Leeds apart from Leeds Airport, which is about 90km away, and it is relatively easy to get to Leeds from Manchester Airport.

Taxi 1

A taxi from Manchester Airport will take around 1 hour to get to the University and will cost around £60-80.

Mode 2: Train

Manchester’s train station is conveniently linked to the airport, so student accommodation Leeds can choose to travel to the school by train. The journey takes around 1 hour and 20 minutes and the train fare is around £25. Once you arrive at Leeds train station, you can take a taxi to school or your flat for around £5, which is still a good value.

3. Leeds Bradford International Airport

If anything, Leeds Bradford International Airport is the most convenient way to get to the University of Leeds, which is less than 8 miles away. And because Leeds is such a small city and airport, it’s not too crowded and clearance is very quick.

Mode 1: Taxi

You can take a taxi directly from Leeds airport to the university, which will take you about 20 minutes to get to Leeds University.

Mode 2: Bus

The University of Leeds is about a 10 minute walk from Leeds city centre. Students can take the 757 from Leeds airport and get to Leeds city centre in about 30 minutes, with a one-way fare of just over £3.”
