1. Who are the biggest titles in the world? Kim Kardashian has given away millions of dollars in titles! Kim Kardashian donates generously to a foundation for the hospice and entitles 10 percent of all her profits to a church co-founded by her mother. What does she earn per year? The annual net income from her is estimated to be over $35 million. Think of at least $3.5 million a year going towards titles!
(There are probably many more big donors. But they don’t want me to solicit them, so they make sure everything is secret…)
2. On the other hand… Patriarch Jacob tithed his sons, consecrating Levi. That’s a pretty heavy title!

3. The longest title is the one with smiles, because there is a MILE between the first and the last letter. Ha ha!

4. Tithing becomes deadly; On December 14, 1831, in a place called Carrickshock, Ireland, a mob of locals attacked Edmund Butler, a collector of titles, and a detachment of the Royal Irish Constabulary who was escorting him. A shower of stones fell on the police and the police chief, Captain Gibbons and fourteen of his men were killed. Also Butler and twenty-five or thirty local people, who had attacked the detachment with stones and other implements.
It makes me cry just thinking about it…
5. The oldest title; the ancient Babylonians collected a ten percent title, El Esretu, for the benefit of the governor, many years before the Bible.
It was CALLED a title. Like other things in life, it wasn’t quite what it seemed. It was really a TAX!
6. Tithe free; Now you can safely own without paying a penny covered up – give away your unwanted gift cards instead!
7. Mormons are required to incumbent above all other obligations, such as paying bills or debts. It comes before the rent too. Not tithing is considered more sinful than alcoholism and smoking, the worst sins.
So what does the Mormon Church gain from tithing? $4.3 billion a year is the estimate!
8. The title war; Between 1830 and 1836 there was a real war waged by the Irish against payment of title for the upkeep of the established state church – the Church of Ireland Tithes were paid in cash or in kind (that’s nice of you!) and payment was required. even atheists needed a degree!
I think the old adage “…when atheists start tithing…” is a bit suspect!
9. Prison for tithes; In 1832 Andrew Fitzgerald, the president of Carlow College was imprisoned for failing to pay for his degrees! Things have changed since then, I hear.
10. On the menu; In the Middle Ages, there was not only a title to the wine in the cellars, there was a title to the wood cut, the meat slaughtered, and even the land that had been prepared for agriculture.
I wonder if you got a haircut and wanted to make a wig, did you need to title it too?
11. Who titles? Only three percent of American adults tithe ten percent or more of their income to churches.
